It looks like the most liberal Republican in the United States Senate may soon be on her way out the door.
Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine, is planning to announce her decision on if she will leave the U.S. Senate on Friday. If she leaves, the senator intends to run for governor of a local Chamber of Commerce.
The 64 year-old senator, has the lowest Liberty Score© of any Republican in Congress. She only votes with conservatives on key issues just 12 percent of the time.
She was one of a handful of Republican Senators who voted against a clean repeal of Obamacare last July, and the only Republican in the Senate to vote against a clean repeal of Obamacare in 2015.
Politico reveals that Senator Collins has been considering this decision for several months. Collins was first elected in 1996, is currently serving her fourth term in the Senate. If she decides to stay, she will not face reelection until 2020.
What do you think folks? Is it time for Senator Collins to leave the Senate?
